This one is all about ALIGNment to your own intentions.
If your intentions are NOT
-arrogant
-malice
-ego based
Then it’s much easier to be strong and firm and fair.
It’s when we’re double minded. It’s when we’re judgmental.
It’s when we’re coming from a superior place that things get wobbly.
So, it’s really about understanding that while we as leader are ‘gifted’ with a strong sense of willingness to be responsible?
That it may not be that easy for others to handle or take on what we can – especially those who are learning and growing in our charge.
This is where WE must find that alignment and center of gravity. That compassion (and love even) for our fellow team members.
For our fellow colleagues.
That point of understanding where we KNOW that just as we have a lot going on in our lives, others also have a lot going on in theirs. AND that their priorities may NOT be the same as OURS and- that’s ok.
This process helps us control things less and be more nurturing and sensitive yet direct.
This is all part of Uncomplicated Leadership.
Being in alignment with self helps us locate the communication set point to move others.
We have to be able to move people to move people.
And first we must be prepared to take responsibility for our leadership, communication and influence.
And this requires deliberate focus and reflection.
The deeper you dive into yourself and clear your garbage. The cleaner your leadership style.
